I found her in her cage, she left her ‘nest’ that she shared with her sister ‘Ginger’ to die alone as far away from her as she could. She died sleeping, I know this because she was in a ball when I found her, she looked asleep. but it stilled pains me because I couldn’t do anything to help her. I was her mother and I couldn’t help her, I never noticed the warning signs that she was dying, and now, shes gone. She died, and when I noticed she was gone, it started to snow outside. in a sad way, I wonder if the snow is a way of her of telling me thanks, thanks that I adopted her, that I gave her a new home and new name and I let her die in piece in a home that loved her.
